Community Service is a program where participants are ordered by the Court to do a certain number of work hours as restitution to the community for the crime they committed. The participant will be placed at a non-for-profit organization or government entity to perform the hours. This program is also used as a sanction for the home detention and work release program and by the juvenile probation department.
